This kitchen remodel in East Moline isn’t just a typical Before & After story. There is a little bit more history here than our typical “we tore out a wall to make room” remodel. One of the homeowners of this project has many memories in the original kitchen… he grew up in this house!
The finished kitchen looks absolutely incredible. Bright white painted cabinetry from our Koch Classic line in the “Savannah” doorstyle is paired with Cambria Quartz counters in the ‘Whitney” design. The subtle tone-on-tone material selections make the space bright, clean, and up to date. take a peek below at the stove wall’s before and after transformation…
Dark cabinetry and the original kitchen appliances were ready for a modern update. The owners of this new kitchen are excited to show friends and family how removing a single wall and updating the kitchen has given them a whole new space. The new kitchen is a major update! So long Top-Mount Refrigerator and “hello” French Doors! Not just French-Doors, a new 4-Door Refrigerator from Whirlpool.
A center refrigerated drawer on this unit can be used for a number of fresh-food storage purposes. This unit includes water and ice in the door with an added feature called “Measured Fill”. Measured Fill allows you to select the exact amount of filtered water (in ounces, cups or liters) that you need. The dispenser will fill the container and automatically shut off when complete. Tip: program the correct amount of water you need for the coffee pot or your favorite water bottle.
Speaking of water, let’s visit the kitchen sink. The farmhouse style sink you saw in the first photo is a large single-well unit. This 30″ wide model is undermounted to the Cambria counters for a clean look and an easy clean swipe from the counter to the sink when cleaning. It is hard to imagine anything could steal attention from a beautiful farm sink in a new kitchen… but these custom blinds almost steal the show!
The large Dining Room window, the window above the kitchen sink, and a second kitchen window are each fit with custom “Transitions” blinds from our Oxford House line. These custom blinds put on a show every time you use them. See them in action here in this video…
With the option to be closed or partially closed, these Transitions blinds can be ordered in a variety of colors. Each are custom ordered to fit you window. This is one of those products that you truly have to see and use in person to get the full effect. Stop in our showroom anytime to see our display.
These blinds are the perfect backdrop to the Murray Feiss lighting selected for the new kitchen. A chandelier hangs above the Dining Room table and a smaller-scaled fixture above the kitchen sink. Adding these lights help bring a Traditional style detail to an otherwise Transitional look.
Another update to a timeless look is the backsplash tile used. In place of a solid white subway tile, this Glazzio glass tile from the “Glacier” series was installed. The classic shape and pattern or a Subway tile but in a glass tile. The glass is a perfect texture to help highlight the sparkle that Cambria’s “Whitney” quartz has.
The sparkle of the Cambria tops gives an incredibly upscale look. As you walk past it in person, the light catches the flecks and sparkles. The crystals in the chandeliers paired with the glass tiles… it’s the perfect hint of bling to dress up this kitchen.
We have to also mention this Whirlpool gas range. Replacing the older “slide-in” models, this new full-depth front-control range can fit in any existing opening for a freestanding range. With no back control panel, the look is clean and seamless. This range is a great choice when you want your backsplash tile to have the full height of space to be shown off. Other features like fan convection, rapid preheat, and even frozen bake make this one of our personal favorites.
This galley kitchen is filled with great storage solutions to make the space. Slide-out shelves and a pullout waste bin have been included. The upper cabinets of the sink wall have been fit with glass. These doors have been ordered with what is called a “70/30” split configuration. In this kitchen, “Cotswold” glass has been added to the larger sections. Our diode LED lighting illuminates the interior of these cabinets as well as the tiled backsplash.
