Princeton, IL- Kitchen and Bath Remodel in Princeton
Posted: June 6, 2018
Wood cabinetry and durable quartz counters make this Princeton, IL kitchen warm and inviting. Warm Birch wood in the Seneca door in the Briarwood stain with a Black Pencil Glaze applied is paired with an appliance package from our KitchenAid line in Stainless Steel. Biscuit Subway Tile with decorative accent areas are a perfect addition to the finished look.
We did a lot of remodel work in the home including bathroom remodels (more on that later) and new flooring in many rooms. This kitchen has come long way from the original in this Princeton, IL home. It now has an upgraded layout and materials. Take a look at this before photo:
Cabinetry upgrades that include storage solutions can be the very best way to treat yourself when you are remodeling a kitchen. In a remodel situation you know your space is limited and you have had a chance to use and experience the needs for what you hope to have in a new kitchen. Smart storage is the very best storage any kitchen can offer. Take a look at this convenient knife block cabinet we included by the prep and cooking zone.
Our designers will work closely with you to help establish a wishlist of items and find cabinet solutions that may be the perfect investment for your everyday use. Other great pullout storage cabinets are spice cabinets near the cooking zone. This cabinet shown is plenty wide so that spices and cooking oils and sprays can also fit within.
Across the kitchen is a tall pantry cabinet with a center shelf section for a microwave. To the left is a section of counter space above the dishwasher. This kitchen design includes a peninsula instead of an island. This allows a section of base cabinets and tops to extend out from the wall. The original kitchen had a bar-height section raised up and this new updated layout keeps the space open with just one single level.
At the inside corner of this peninsula is the new kitchen sink. New Engineered Quartz counters in the “Chakra Beige” color look great with an undermounted kitchen sink. Now this new peninsula is one large surface with an overhang for seating.
Another section of cabinet storage and countertop surface has been included near the kitchen table. This location makes a perfect morning station with space for the coffeepot and toaster. Birch wood is a wonderful choice for any traditional style kitchen space. The grain is very clean and smooth and many stains take to it in a way that compliments existing furniture and wood trim. The added accent glaze on the cabinet doors in this kitchen looks great with all of the oil rubbed bronze hardware and lighting.
We carry a variety of product categories at Village Home Stores to help make the entire remodel process easier to shop for. One of these product categories is wall switches and outlets. Our lighting team can help you and your tile salesperson find the perfect style and finish for these wall items that fits within your project budget and design concept. Shown below is our Legrand Radiant switch series in “Almond” color. This finish looks great against the off-white subway tile selected. Speaking of tile, take a look at this new custom tiled shower we also installed in the home. We removed a tub shower unit and replaced it with a glass-door shower. The rain glass used for the door adds style and some privacy.
Tiled showers continue to be at the very top of all of our client wishlists for bathroom designs. This one includes oil rubbed bronze fixtures and a row of accent tile on all three walls. A custom shelf/niche was tiled into the main showerhead wall.
A tiled floor with a center drain is tiled in a medium colored tile that picks upon the accent tile and veining in the main wall tile. A corner ledge/seat has been installed. This can be used for more toiletries storage or as a seat or leg rest while shaving.
Quartz counters were installed in two bathrooms in the home. This 17″ x 14″ undermount vanity sink is from Elkay and adds so much style an texture to the Powder Room. It has an antique hammered finish. Don’t forget that when you remodel with Village Home Stores you can take advantage of our Complete Project Management Program just like these Princeton, IL customers did.
