The complete project management program at Village is not just an efficient way to remodel your kitchen or bath with us… did you know we can do work at your business as well? Many products from Village Home Stores can be used in commercial applications. Lighting, flooring, appliances, window treatments, cabinetry and counter surfaces from our store can be found in offices, bars, salons, and restaurants all around the area. We just wrapped up a project in a downtown Atkinson, IL building that turned out great!
If you are a small business like us, you are busy doing what you do best! So even if you are able to do some of the work yourself normally… you may not have the time to get it done and be back to business in a timely way. That’s where we can help! The project management team at Village Home Stores can work with you and your staff to create a schedule and timeline that works best for your business. For this project, we didn’t have to work in the space while they did. They were still operating out of another location during our renovation. This was an available storefront in downtown Atkinson, IL that we remodeled as a new location for the Illinois Farm Business Farm Management office.
The main room of the office is a long space with a kitchenette and restroom on one end, and a front entry desk at the other. Our crews cleared out the existing flooring and gave the walls and ceiling system new life. The existing lighting was fit with LED panels and a lot of other necessary electrical work was completed as well as plastering and painting. A new bathroom vanity, top and faucet for the bathroom and a small kitchenette area were also installed.
In the front lobby area we were able to re-purpose some of the existing fixtures like blinds and the pass-through glass area for the front desk. Plaster, paint, fresh trim, and great flooring complete the look. New EXIT emergency lights went in as well as a brand new ceiling fan. But that cow wall art is secretly our favorite part of this room. Luxury vinyl tile and plank flooring surfaces have skyrocketed to the top of our most asked about products for homes and businesses. Before we dive into the performance of these products, let’s not breeze past how good they look! Check out how real this wood look vinyl plank is. If you are on the fence about how realistic LVT and LVP can look, please stop by and see some samples in our showroom. Seeing these products in person will change your mind.
Now let’s chat more about why you should consider this category of flooring. This stuff is built for high traffic applications and gives you piece of mind if you are concerned about wear, water, pet accidents, and claws. When considering flooring for this project we had to take into account that it was a place of business rather than a home. But many of the same reasons why LVP is great for a commercial space are reasons why you may want it in your home. At this office we were searching for a great look and a great warranty for the product. That lead us to Armstrong Flooring‘s Rigid Core Oak look-alike vinyl plank floor in the “Neutral Sky” color. These planks are 6″ wide and 48″ long. They are easy to install and look great!
Why Choose Luxury Vinyl Flooring?
- It’s Durable: It is scratch and dent resistant! This Armstrong product has a 12-mil wear layer that protects against dents and other surface damage.
- The Warranty: Many of our LVT and LVP products include a warranty. This Armstrong product has a limited 30 year residential warranty and a 7 year light use commercial warranty!
- It’s 100% Waterproof: Install it in kitchens, bathrooms, mudrooms and basements, anywhere (even where floors can get the wettest). When exposed to water, planks will not swell, buckle or lose integrity.
We have been so thankful for all of our customers who have kept our crews busy and adapted to our added COVID-19 safety measures as we stay at work. We are doing our best to protect our staff and our customers during this time. We were so happy to work with this company to help renovate an existing space and make it better suited for their needs and their clients. What does this team do in this green-walled office? FBFM is a cooperative educational-service program designed to assist farmers with management decision-making. It provides help with business and family records.
