New Build Farmhouse in Rural Illinois With Angled Island

We label a lot of kitchens “Modern Farmhouse” these days… but this time we truly mean it! The kitchen in this new Aledo, IL home has modern upgrades and farmhouse details PLUS just happens to be built on family farmland! It has a stylish and clean transitional look with tons of great modern features. Village Home Stores was so glad to partner with Bagby Construction on the design and materials for this new construction project. Let’s take a tour of some of the highlights from this home beginning with the kitchen in the open concept great room.

A modern take on a U-shape kitchen layout, this perimeter angles in slightly on each end and the shape is mirrored back in a single-level kitchen island. This kitchen is spacious and interesting and serves up plenty of great storage without needing any corner susan cabinets. Our favorite material detail selected for this space is the choice of Cambria Quartz in the “Skara Brae” design. This engineered quartz is a stunning blend of warm gray tones arranged in a river-like pattern with a bright white background. The best place to see this full pattern is on the large island top below.

A great way to modernize any element is to take a classic shape and change the material. n the case of this kitchen, a Kohler farmhouse apron sink is undermounted to the Cambria quartz in a Stainless Steel material. This sink even has the modern feature of a lowered center divider. A low divider sink layout allows you the option to separately soak, rinse, or dry items. The divider is just high enough to fill for a decent soak on one side without wasting a lot of water. Take a glance below and imagine this sink with a large skillet or pan needing to soak. A low divider allows you to get that soak and still lay the handle down in the sink without splashing and making a huge mess.

If you peek just past the faucet base, you will also see another great modern detail installed in the countertop surface. A garbage disposal is nothing new, but a button switch that is located right by the faucet in a low-profile is pretty great! A great meal at home begins with prep and always ends in making a big mess. So any cleaning zone of an active kitchen needs a dishwasher that can get to work for you. Have a big mess? This KitchenAid dishwasher can fit it all, adjust to the soil level of your load, and a full load quietly at just 39 DBA.

A removable third level rack gets you capacity when you need it for lids, utensils, or flatware. The main upper rack must have been designed originally for Inspector Gadget because it’s got so many cool features! The rack itself can adjust easily up and down. Two rows of adjustable tines can be shifted into one of three positions to accommodate deep or wide dishes. Your household have a lot of reusable water bottles to keep clean? This upper rack also has spray nozzles that can be placed deep inside tall or odd-shaped items like bottles, glasses and vases to thoroughly clean them. Have baby bottles to wash? Use these same bottle wash nozzles plus the Sani-Rinse option that heats the final rinse water to 155°F, eliminating 99.999% of food soil bacteria.

This kitchen island design is ideal for prep, cleanup, casual dining, and entertaining. The design of an island shape that angles in helps to keep the user’s work triangle tight and allows the exterior of the island to spread out. Three spans of counter-height overhang are available for seating and electrical outlets on each end make the island versatile. You can plug in small appliances for prep or even crock pots for serving. With a wide counter and incredible natural light, plug in a laptop and this island can even become a work-from-home space.

The cooking zone is right at the center of this kitchen design. Instead of a freestanding range with hood layout, this design splits up the cooktop and oven. The center stretch of base cabinets is packed full of deep and sturdy drawer storage including underneath the cooktop.

A wide stack of two deep pots and pans drawers is available right beneath the cooktop. Flanking each side is a three drawer stack with enough width for smaller pans, utensils and other tools. The classic shape and function of a cup pull handle is perfect for a slab drawer front like these. Notice that on the wide pots and pans drawers we used two pulls.

The 36″ wide 5 burner gas cooktop and 30″ wide wall oven have been installed separately. This widens the cooking zone making it easier for two users and allows for a built in microwave to be installed above the wall oven. Now the microwave and wall oven are each raised up to a more comfortable height to read controls and load and unload items. A drawer below the wall oven is the perfect place for storing baking sheets and racks.

Tall cabinets with built in cooking can also provide a visual balance for other tall elements in a kitchen design. In this home, the tall cabinet is complimented across the layout with a french door refrigerator surrounded by end panels and a deep upper cabinet. This KitchenAid refrigerator is one of our bestselling models. The interior layout is amazing and even includes a slide-away shelf that allows you to adjust the storage space in seconds. Our lighting experts will help you create a plan that uses your lighting budget to carry your personal style from room to room and even within the same room. Like many new homes, this layout has an open concept with an entrance, living room, dining room, and the kitchen all in one view. We love the “Pearson” series from Capital lighting. It is a wonderful transitional chandelier series that can look right at home in so many spaces. Here above you can see the 8-light Pearson hangs above the dining area and if you look the the back of the image you can see a two-tiered 24-light version hanging in the front foyer. Below is an image showing you the view looking up from the front entrance of the home.

Size and scale are just as important as style when selecting lighting for your home. Our lighting experts are here to help you make the right decisions with that in mind. The same can be said about ceiling fans. Nothing can look more out of place than a tiny fan in a great room. Not to mention the function of a fan is to move air within that space. The 70″ wide “Maverick” fans in this house are just the right size and they are super stylish. Plus these fans are “damp-rated” so you can install them inside and outside.

Speaking of outside, don’t forget that the first chance at a first impression with your lighting is outside the entrance to your home. Don’t leave your exterior lighting selections for a last-minute thought. With many new styles available, it is such a fun category of lighting. Gone are the days of installing the same basic lantern style as your neighbor. We love the schoolhouse style arm lights selected at this home. The “Allenbury” series in a 14″ size from our Kichler line has been installed across the front garage area of this new home.

Ivory White Kitchen Perfect For Entertaining

During the holiday season, we love to share recent kitchen designs that are great spaces for entertaining. This week’s featured project is a remodeled Coal Valley, Illinois kitchen that is a holiday hosting dream. This spacious kitchen is perfect for entertaining! A U-shaped kitchen layout with a peninsula and dual-level kitchen island. Plus another wall of pantry, fresh food storage, and display cabinets are also within the same room. Step on in and take a look around with us.

Each corner of the kitchen layout includes a tall cabinet with built-in appliances. As you face the main U-shape layout, the left corner is home to a built in microwave and raised dishwasher (shown below). This kitchen remodel was completed keeping as close to the original layout as possible. Why? These gorgeous floors were already installed and in great condition! The original kitchen included a 15″ wide trash compactor unit. In the new design, we instead installed a built-in KitchenAid ice maker. With a water line already accessible in the neighboring corner for the dishwasher, this revised appliance option is ideal for the existing layout.

A U-shaped kitchen design with corner appliances including a raised dishwasher with built-in microwave above.

In the other corner of the kitchen, we installed a double wall oven unit. This 500 series wall oven includes True Convection options. This provides consistent heating and even cooking to ensure there are no burnt edges or under-cooked centers. The temperature probe delivers accurate measurement of internal temperatures of meats, poultry, and casseroles without needing to open the oven. Built-in appliances in a corner can add a lot of interest in look and function. We love how this layout offers up open landing space for the oven items on each side and behind the user at the island.

Speaking of open counter space, the span connecting the U-shape is wide open for prep, service, or decor. This length of counter can be used so many ways. Make a mess? No problem! Clean up is a breeze because there are no grout lines in the kitchen backsplash. A full height slab of matching “Calacatta Laza” quartz surface is installed keeping a clean and consistent look.

Our quartz surfaces are expertly measured, templated, fabricated, and installed. We can even arrange to have cutouts made for your outlets and switches. In this kitchen design we installed our Radiant switches and outlets in a “Nickel” finish. When you work with a lighting expert at Village Home Stores we can help you to select a complimenting finish for your outlets, switches, and covers. Nothing can rob attention from a beautiful kitchen and backsplash quite like disruptively basic outlets dotting across it. This radiant series dresses up the look of any wall switch or outlet.

The right decor and accents can truly make a space! That is absolutely true in the case of the MacKenzie Childs Courtly Check pattern items displayed throughout this new kitchen. The white on white kitchen provides the perfect backdrop for the playfully patterned collection of this homeowner. Shown below is an iconic checkered teapot resting on a 5 burner gas cooktop centered in the dual-level kitchen island.

When you are making selections for a kitchen design there are so many details to be decided. When you work with Village Home Stores we are with you every step of the way. Our designers can help keep you on track, on budget, and guide your choices all with that final finished vision in mind. One detail that can really chance the look of a counter surface is the edge style that you choose. In this Coal Valley kitchen, an “Ogee” edge style was applied to the counter surfaces.

The profile choice on your counter surfaces can add more curves and edges for light to reflect. In this kitchen design, the island counter surfaces look perfectly highlighted and framed in by the “Ogee” edge. We must also mention that the finished space had another very cute black and white accent piece that is featured front and center in the image below:

That’s Martini and she just loves her new kitchen from Village Home Stores. She makes a cameo in so many of these photos we figured a proper intro was in order. The wall opposite the U-shape is home to a tall pantry cabinet, built in refrigerator, and a pair of refrigerated drawers. The main refrigerator is 48″ wide and the set of refrigerated drawers to the left are 24″ wide.

There is a small extension of base and wall cabinets on the other end. Normally this counter surface would become a drop zone for mail, keys, and charging devices. But we hid all of that in the top drawer out of sight! While we can’t design a kitchen that is resistant to clutter or piles… we can suggest better storage solutions for you!

Of course any painted kitchen looks even brighter when it is illuminated by our bestselling Diode LED tape lighting. In this Coal Valley Quad Cities home we installed the low-profile system in three applications: undercounter lighting, in-cabinet lighting, and above cabinet lighting. The look is amazing and with such a low voltage use, this system is the perfect ambient lighting to leave on as much as you would like!

The cabinet handles are from Jeffery Alexander’s Sullivan series in the “Brushed Pewter” finish. The appliance package is from our KitchenAid line and many of the built-in unites can be ordered in other sizes if needed. Shop our Local Low Price Guaranteed on all appliances online, anytime here at villagehomestores.com For this remodel we did keep the original flooring… but that didn’t stop us from making some big changes to the flow of the room and nearby spaces. We removed an archway that used to divide the kitchen from the nearby sunroom. By removing that section of arched wall, we were able to extend the kitchen peninsula for more storage and seating (see below).

U shaped kitchen with white cabinets, quartz counters and cherry floors. Peninsula and dual level island design.

We also removed some walls and doorways for that mentioned sunroom. Now the flow of the social spaces in this home all feels more open and inviting. We can easily picture this kitchen packed with holiday guests. What a stunning space. Our thanks to these amazing customers for choosing to work with us and for allowing us to come pet Martini one last time and snap some photos to share with you. What a beautiful space! Selecting white kitchen cabinetry in a great room kitchen setting is always a wonderful choice to keep the entire open concept light and airy. It is a classic cabinet finish that has remained on home magazines covers for years and years. This kitchen space takes a classic look to a whole new level though with added details and material choices that keep it functional and very eye-catching. Beginning with the statement accent island in the center of the kitchen.

This single-level kitchen island includes storage on three sides, outlets on each end, and an overhang for counter-height seating. A gradual, curved radius has been applied to that overhang to soften the look. This island is the best area to showcase the countertop selection for the kitchen. The “Summerhill” design from Cambria Quartz is as durable as it is gorgeous. A blend of expertly curated neutral quartz colors makes it work with so many styles and material combinations. Cambria’s innovative fabrication process even adds a natural looking veining to the slabs. This gives you the look of natural stone with a control of color. It is also an incredibly durable product and perfect surface for any active kitchen. Learn more about Cambria Quartz here in a past blog post.

Above is a closer shot of the “Summerhill” tops in this kitchen. Notice how it includes whites, beiges, grays, AND even a black fleck! Stop in and see samples and installed examples of Cambria Quartz at our showroom. Curious how a Cambria color will look in your existing kitchen? There’s an AR app to “try” them on! Learn more here on the Cambria site! The perimeter counters in this kitchen have been an “Ogee” edge applied for added style and dimension. A great way to show off that the Cambria quartz colors are throughout the entire slab of material from top to bottom. Now do us a favor. Scroll back up to the very first image of this kitchen and look at the inset doorstyle of the kitchen cabinets we’ll wait right here for you to return… and reveal that AREN’T inset doors at all! But at first glance did we have you tricked?

Geneseo, IL kitchen design with Koch Cabinetry and Whirlpool appliances. Design and materials by Village Home Stores for Hazelwood Homes. | villagehomestores.com

Inset cabinetry is an incredible look and a very classic choice for any kitchen design. But in this home, we have given the illusion of a high-end inset door at a fraction of the investment. This is the “Lexington” door from our Koch Express line of cabinetry. It has been painted in the “White” finish and a “Black Accent” has been applied to the door details. That added accent is what give the illusion of a door inset and shadowed. This small detail added to a traditional-overlay cabinet door gives a great look. It also helps to compliment the black island cabinetry perfectly. We love how the kitchen island pendants compliment the appliances in this space. These 16 1/2″ pendant lights are from Quorum’s Signature Collection and are in the Satin Nickel finish. Satin nickel is a great compliment to the Whirlpool Stainless Steel appliances.

Geneseo, IL kitchen design with Koch Cabinetry and tall hood with cathedral ceiling. Design by Chris Robinson of Village Home Stores for Hazelwood Homes. | villagehomestores.com

A 26 cu. ft. French Door refrigerator with double drawers and dual icemakers is a great choice for this busy kitchen. The focal point of this wall s the 30″ wide 5-burner gas cooktop with a tall chimney hood above. Shop all of our appliances any day, any time here on our new mobile-friendly website. What a great look for this wall of the kitchen design! Look at how the tile extends all of the way up to meet the angled ceiling behind the hood. A clean look on the edge of that tile is achieved by using a metal edge band to “cap” off the ends in a complimenting Nickel finish.

Oh trust us, we know you noticed that pot-filler faucet above the cooktop right away! Our envy-radar also went off when we saw it. Choices like these are what make a space gorgeous AND functional. We wanted to also showcase here the use of a classic subway tile in white paired with an accent tile and contrasting grout. White subway tile with a dark contrasting grout is an on-trend look but it’s not for everyone. In this kitchen, it would have been a very busy look to have a darker contrast. This subtle color choice pulls a neutral from the counter surface color and the look is great. The accent tile here is from Epic Stone’s Interlocking series in the “Everest” color combination. We also used this same accent tile in one of the tiled showers in the home (shown below).

This shower includes an elongated version of a subway tile These tiles are 4″ x 16″ and installed horizontally, they add a stylish detail while helping to make the shower seem wider. That same accent tile fro the kitchen is used as a band around the shower and also reappears on the front face of the corner bench. A 2″ hexagon tile is used here as the shower floor. Notice also the installation of a shower grab bar at the entrance. See more examples of grab bars we have installed here in this Houzz ideabook. This has become a common request from our clients of all ages and abilities. Installing assistance like this that will help a customer age-at-home and just remain safe is always a great investment!

Back to the kitchen where we can mention another important investment. The flooring you choose for a new home is so important. In an open concept layout like this, our COREtec engineered plank floors are a great choice. COREtec comes in a large variety of wood styles and finishes so there truly is something for any space. What our COREtec customers love beyond the look is the performance! These surfaces are kidproof, waterproof, and petproof! Bettendorf Iowa- Kitchen Remodeled From Start to Finish

This remodel feature takes us to a Bettendorf Iowa home that was in need of updates to better match the needs and tastes of new homeowners. The Complete Project Management Program at Village Home Stores allowed us to manage every estimate, every step, every schedule, and every detail for these clients. With a plan in place and a schedule in action we were able to remodel this home before they even moved in. Take a look at the beautiful new kitchen:Painted kitchen with accent glaze in a remodeled Bettendorf Iowa home. #kitchen #remodel from start to finish by Village Home Stores. | VillageHomeStores.com

Like many of the before stories we share here on the blog, the original kitchen was very nice. A functional design with quality products at the time it was installed many years ago. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t in need of updates. A long kitchen peninsula divided the kitchen from the dining room space and storage was limited to standard height wall cabinets:

We began by removing the existing kitchen, ceiling soffits, and ceramic tile flooring. The new design from Village Home Stores replaces the peninsula with a center kitchen island. This allows us to open up the kitchen to feel included in the open floor plan the home already had. A large skylight at the center of the kitchen is a fantastic feature and will remain a part of the new design.

The photo above shows progress after demo and plumbing and electrical rough-ins have been completed based on the new kitchen layout. A half-wall has been built for the new kitchen island. Many crews were scheduled and coordinated to remodel the kitchen, flooring, a stairway, many upstairs bedrooms, and a master bathroom (more on that in a future post). The most dramatic transformation happened in the kitchen. Take a look at this new stunning bright kitchen!Remodeled kitchen in Bettendorf from Village Home Stores. Project managed from start to finish by Village Home Stores. | VillageHomeStores.com

Beautiful new random-width light Hickory floors from our Bella Cera line in a finish named “Precis” set the stage for the new space. Cabinetry from our Koch Classic line in the “Legacy”, Full-Overlay door has been painted in a “White” finish and an “Umber” highlight has been applied. You can see how the Umber highlight helps to accent the details of cabinetry especially the beaded back panel of the kitchen island. Beadboard back panel on kitchen island in a remodeled Bettendorf Iowa home. | VillageHomeStores.com

The skylight, bright painted cabinetry, and light hardwood floors help to give the space a warm and bright feel… but rest assured, we still added an expert lighting plan to the new kitchen. Recessed can lighting was placed throughout to illuminate the new areas of the kitchen and our bestselling Diode LED tape light was installed as undercabinet AND in-cabinet lighting. Diode LED undercabinet lighting used to light interior and underside of cabinets in a remodeled Bettendorf Iowa home. | VillageHomeStores.com

This lighting system is essential to help add ambient and task lighting (shown above in full daylight). This system is low profile, low voltage and creates the perfect wash of consistent light to any area. Electricians love the low-profile versatility of this product because you can “hide” it easily out of sight. Take a look at how easily it is tucked away behind the cabinet faceframe below: Diode LED undercabinet lighting used to light interior of cabinet in a remodeled Bettendorf Iowa home. | VillageHomeStores.com

A tall pantry cabinets fit with adjustable sliding shelves is always an enviable part of any kitchen tour. When your tall cabinet is more than 12″ deep, discuss your storage options with you designer. Slide out shelves can always make pantry access (and staying organized) easier. Tall pantry cabinet with slideout shelves in a remodeled Bettendorf Iowa home. | VillageHomeStores.com

Notice also in the image above that a baseboard molding near the floor has been wrapped around this section of cabinetry. This helps to create a built-in look to the hutch area. The baseboard also gets an added accent from the Umber highlight applied to the cabinet finish. Another tall pantry is down the wall near the refrigerator. More tall cabinet storage is just beyond the new kitchen in the laundry room (shown just through the door in the image below).

A package of KitchenAid appliances in Stainless Steel make this bright and beautiful kitchen extremely functional beginning with the incredible 5 door refrigerator model selected. This full-sided French Door model includes two soft-close refrigerated drawers and a three-tiered freezer layout. One of the drawers has 5 preset temperatures so you can select to store: meat/fish, drinks, greens/herbs, deli/cheese, or even thaw/marinate items. The other drawer includes a Produce Preserver feature ideal for getting the longest life for your fresh produce. A Sharp microwave drawer in the center kitchen island includes a tilt-out control panel and blends seamlessly with the other appliances. Microwave drawers install so well into kitchen islands and locating a microwave in a center kitchen island is a more convenient location than having them tucked into a corner or awkwardly above a cooktop. Microwave drawers give a great customized look.

Another great custom kitchen, built-in look is achieved by separating the kitchen cooktop and oven. In this design a 30″ wide 5-burner gas cooktop is installed above a 30″ wide convection wall oven.  Shown below with another great detail of changing the cabinet and countertop depth at the cooking station for added interest. Wall #oven built into base cabinet with Gas #cooktop above. Above the cooktop is a wood hood design with a concealed Broan blower insert. 390 CFMs hidden within a hood cabinet that is taller and deeper than the surrounding cabinets. Looking for options and ideas for your own kitchen hood? Perhaps debating between a metal or wood hood? Don’t miss out on our Pinterest board dedicated to that very topic! Take a moment to notice the scale of the cabinet hardware on the doors and drawers. Cabinet handles and knobs can sometimes be one of the last decisions made but they are so important for a complete design. The handles selected here are an appropriate scale with the door and drawer sizes. Smaller “standard” sized handles would look out of place. The wall surfaces of the new kitchen keep the light bouncing around perfectly. Glossy, glass subway tile adds texture and style to the space. This 3″ x 6″ tile is from our Appeal series in a neutral color named “Cloud Cream”Glass subway tile in a remodeled Bettendorf Iowa home. | VillageHomeStores.com

Classic Subway Tiles can be installed in a number of patterns. We love the choice here to use a Herringbone pattern. It adds a playful look to the classic tile shape. The countertops in this kitchen are another neutral and classic choice. This “Chakra Beige” engineered quartz is one of our promotional-priced colors at the time of this feature. It blends well with painted or stained cabinets and shown here with the light Hickory floors it looks perfect. Quartz is a no-nonsense counter material for your kitchen. It is non-porous (no stains) and heat and scratch resistant! Once installed, there is no maintenance needed and the surface can be cleaned easily with soap and water or any non-abrasive cleaner.

Bettendorf Iowa Craftsman Quartersawn Oak Kitchen Remodel

We love any chance to showcase the work that we have completed here on the blog. Many times it may seem like a lot of our projects have a similar look to each other as you scroll through our portfolio of featured kitchens. Naturally, as styles and trends appear, our projects begin to have similar themes and tones. So anytime we get something different to tour… we jump at the opportunity.  How about a break from painted white kitchens for an Oak one? Quartersawn Oak cabinetry by Dura Supreme paired with a natural Acacia floor, natural stone tile, and engineered quartz counters. | VillageHomeStores.com

Any fan of the Arts & Crafts style or any lover of Frank Lloyd Wright’s work can appreciate the gorgeous clean lines, smooth woodgrains, and natural elements that truly bring the outdoors in. This kitchen has come a long way. The original space had white cabinets, beige laminate counters, and ceramic tile flooring. Take a look at this before photo:

And now look at this warm and inviting Craftsman kitchen. Craftsman style is all about clean lines, attention to function, and heirloom-quality material choices. This style also reflects a love of the natural, creating a connection between a space and its surroundings. Bringing the outdoors in with natural materials in this kitchen is a celebration of that important Craftsman style element. But what could be “different” about an Oak kitchen? Well for starters… this isn’t a standard Oak kitchen.

Many furniture pieces and built-in units in this Craftsman school of style include an Oak wood rich in smooth, patterned grain. However, the woodgrain patterns on these cabinets are a different variety than most expect from Oak. This is because instead of a standard cut Oak, select “quartersawn” Oak materials are used to build the visible elements. Notice the bottom rail of the door in the photo below:

That unique marbled woodgrain detail is a result of a quartersawn method of collecting raw materials. How this is achieved will be better explain in an upcoming episode of the Village Home Show that also includes a full video tour of this kitchen. The quartersawn Oak cabinetry is from our Dura Supreme line. The door is named “Hudson” and the wood has been stained with a “Butternut” stain.

The top section of some of the wall cabinet doors have been prepared for glass with a mullion design. A frosted glass has been inserted for a great look that also conceals what is within it. This kitchen design creates a large U-shape and even wraps around one of the end corners to create a small wine bar area. An X-shaped wine cubbie cabinet is an updated approach to wine storage and this added section of countertop will be great for serving when entertaining.

Of course this finished kitchen would be nowhere near as warm and inviting without our Diode LED undercabinet lighting installed. It is amazing how even during the daytime this lighting can take a kitchen to a whole new level! In this kitchen we were sure to wrap the lighting all the way around the corner into this serving area.

A great way to “bring the outdoors in” but still keep a design feeling contained and clean is with your material choices. This kitchen includes a backsplash of pencil-thin Pietra Opus Canyon Quartz tiles. These tiles add a texture and assortment of colors that add earthtones to the space. Bettendorf Iowa Quartersawn Oak kitchen with cabinetry by Dura Supreme paired with Pietra Opus Canyon Quartz tile. Above the cooktop area is a section of accent tile. This tile is from the Crossroads Crushed Mood Glass series in the “Karma” colorway. These 1″ x 2″ tiles pull from the same earthtones of grays and greens and add another texture and pattern to the wall. Below the cooktop are two large pots and pans drawers. These large high-capacity drawers come with drawer guides that are ready and willing to hold heavy loads. As a way to create a custom-fit Craftsman look, the Designer from Village included footed areas in some of the toespaces. Take a look at the two “feet” right beneath this cooktop area. A great look. Quartersawn Oak cabinetry by Dura Supreme with a gas 5-burner cooktop. | VillageHomeStores.com

Including a wood hood design in this kitchen also helps keep the space feeling warm and customized. Instead of a large and cold steel hood, a wood hood has been ordered and installed to match the kitchen. A 390 CFM Broan hood insert is concealed within the hood for ventilation when needed.

At the very center of the new kitchen is a single-level island full of more great drawer storage and an overhang for counter-height seating. The Engineered Quartz in this kitchen design is part of a grouping of promotional-priced Quartz colors. This is named “Solare” and becomes a perfect neutral no-maintenance counter surface for the kitchen. Solare is not a completely solid color. There are some subtle tone-on-tone patterns in the slabs for added dimension. Be sure to ask your Kitchen and Bath Designer at Village Home Stores about our promotional priced stone options. The look you dream of may fit within your budget after all! Quartersawn Oak cabinetry by Dura Supreme paired with a natural Acacia floor, natural stone tile, and engineered quartz counters. | VillageHomeStores.com

But did you notice the flooring yet? Modeled here by full-time cutie and part-time flooring model “Gracie”, these LWM Natural Acacia hardwood floors set an incredible stage for this entire new Great Room space! Wood cabinets with wood floors? YOU BET!

Here the Oak cabinets are consistent in color and the Acacia wood showcases many wood colors and patterns while keeping and overall look in a Medium woodtone just like the cabinets. Did you know that Village Home Stores also can order and install interior doors for your projects? The refrigerator wall in this kitchen design includes an entrance to a home office. We designed a cabinet layout that wrapped and surrounded this entrance and created a doorway space custom fit for the office entry.

To the left of the doorway is a built-in wall oven with a microwave above. This microwave unit is a very Affordable way to get a built in look in many applications. It is just a universal countertop microwave with a trim kit ordered to frame it into the cabinet space. The same application also works well in a base cabinet of an island. To the right of the doorway is a 36″ wide Whirlpool refrigerator. This model is counter-depth refrigerator. That allows it to sit back as close to the surrounding cabinetry and panels as possible leaving more walkway space between the island top and the refrigerator doors. Be sure to discuss refrigerator depth with your Kitchen Designer and Appliance Salesperson at Village Home Stores to help find the right fit for your space and your budget.
