White painted kitchen in Iowa Quad Cities with marble-look quartz counters and Whirlpool appliances from Village Home Stores.

This weekend is your final chance to tour the QCBR Spring Parade of Homes listings. We have another peek for you inside one of the properties we had the pleasure of partnering on. This Home in Bettendorf, Iowa from McCoy homes is on trend AND on the market! We love the uniqueness of this home and you will too. Here are a few sneak peeks at it online but you really do need to see it in person this Saturday or Sunday!

Open concept kitchens are the desire for most of our remodel customers. For our new home customers, its is pretty much expected on a print. We 100% understand the appeal of having a home’s kitchen, dining, and living room spaces all sharing the same look feel, and space. The kitchen is no longer the “hub” of the home. In today’s mobile and connected culture, the “hub” is wherever you are at the time. Kitchens and dining spaces are not just for cooking and nosh! They are for entertaining, homework, working from home, and more!

We absolutely love the flow of this open concept kitchen! Village Home Stores provided the cabinetry, countertops, and appliances for this stylish home. White painted cabinetry from our Koch Classic line in the Bristol door is painted with a “white” finish on the perimeter and island. The range wall is the focal point of the design. A symmetrical layout of base cabinets and wall cabinets frame in the unique wood hood with a 390 CFMs blower insert and a unique kitchen tile backsplash.

While the surfaces and layout may grab your attention at first, don’t overlook that Stainless Steel range at the center of the wall. This front-control gas range has cast-iron grates that extend across the entire cooktop, giving you the flexibility to place pots and pans anywhere during the cooking process. Plus skip preheating for frozen favorites like pizza and lasagna with Frozen Bake™ technology!

The kitchen island shape is unique and angled like many other details in the home. A double-angled “batwing” curve design hugs the sink and dishwasher at the center of the design. This dishwasher has an AnyWare ™ silverware basket and one hour wash cycle. Plus it is currently on clearance! Shop it here while supplies last.

On the back of the kitchen island we have applied smooth panels and trim in a more modern take for the Farmhouse trend. The island has an overhang with seating for 4 (or more) counter-height barstools. The countertops for this kitchen are a Q Quartz product that gives your the look of marble with the performance of an engineered quartz. Translation: red wine spills wont ruin the party! Village Home Stores also provided the cabinetry and countertops for the bathrooms at this McCoy Homes parade home.

We are completely jealous of whomever gets to have this Master Suite! Farmhouse tile inlay, gray cabinetry with added storage in the countertop tower, and a clever pass through from the master closet to the laundry room (check that out this weekend during the parade). The same Bristol door from the kitchen cabinets is used here with a gray “Fog” paint applied.

Bettendorf Bathroom Remodel With Double Vanity and Pendant Lights

Bathroom remodel with Dura Supreme Cabinetry in Bettendorf, Iowa. | villagehomestores.com

Who remodels bathroom in the Quad Cities Area? We do? But what if you don’t need it fully gutted and rearranged? Still us! Village Home Stores is in the business of helping you make the most out of every room in your home. Many bathroom and kitchen layouts are already very functional designs, they just need a new look. Our expert remodel team is definitely here to help. Updating your home can add to it’s value and appeal. In this Bettendorf home, we gave an oak and brass Master Bath a new classic look. Marble look quartz counters in Quad Cities. | villagehomestores.com

Marble look quartz in the Calacatta Classique color is such a classic and transitional choice. Marble has proven for centuries that it will never go out of style. Quartz counters in a bathroom are an ideal choice. Here you get the look of marble, but no worries if anything spills or leaks onto the tops. Quartz is also heat resistant so hair appliances won’t scorch or melt the surface if they come in contact with it. The shower area also received an updated look:Who remodels bathroom in the Quad Cities? We do! Bathroom remodel with new shower entry in Bettendorf, Iowa. Remodeled from start to finish by Village Home Stores. | villagehomestores.com

What a difference a new shower door system can make! From heavy, brass framework, to a more open and airy look, the new shower area seems larger without changing in size at all. And now for the main event: the double vanity area. Any Master Bath with two users can always plead it’s case for having two vanity sinks. But this bathroom has us convinced that the pendant lighting trend in bathrooms is also a great choice! We love the use of two framed mirrors and a light above each bowl area.

Vanity cabinetry from our Dura Supreme line in the “Kendall” door and painted “Latte” finish creates a soothing neutral color choice. Latte may be a beige paint at first glance, but when browsing finish selections it really falls within the warm white/taupe category. Selecting a lighter neutral paint cabinet to pair with a marble look top can be a great way to keep a space seem smaller. There are still so many varieties of colors in the veining of a marble top, and of course flooring to tie into the overall look. You don’t need a dark paint or stain for a rich look. Kichler Downtown series pendants in a Quad Cities Bathroom Remodeled by Village Home Stores. | villagehomestores.com

This bathroom feature also brought a fun detail to our attention. How versatile the Downtown Series of lighting by Kichler is! These same pendants hang in our showroom above a kitchen island display. We have installed them at countless projects used as everything from a single foyer light, to kitchen lighting, and now in a bathroom space. The same light. In the same scale and size. Used in many varieties of styled spaces. Now that is the very definition of Transitional Style. See the same lights here in a past blog feature of a kitchen remodel in a historic home. Did you know that you can shop all of our lighting catalogs online, anytime?Shop our entire catalog of lighting online. | villagehomestores.com

We have an award-winning lighting showroom full of a variety of lighting styles and trends. Even so, there is just no way we can show the hundreds of thousands of options available. Shop lighting here on our website and use filters to help narrow your search. Find the light you love and get the very best service available before and after your purchase. We match online lighting prices if needed. Trust us when we say that you want to purchase your lighting from an expert lighting showroom like Village. If warranty or shipping issues arise, we are ready to get to work for you to make it right! Remodeled bathroom with tub and shower in Bettendorf, Iowa. | villagehomestores.com

We also gave a new look to the tub surround area of the bathroom. A panel was ordered in the same style and finish as the new vanity. This panel gives a totally new refresh to the existing tub area! Ask your designer at Village Home Stores what they recommend for your current space. We know our team can create a new vision for your space but sometimes it can be hard for clients to understand it. That is why we will present fully rendered design drawings to help you visualize the new space before any materials are even ordered.  It is an important part of our remodel process and provides you, the client, peace of mind that we have a vision for your home. Custom tub apron to match vanities. | villagehomestores.com

Bettendorf, Iowa Master Bath Remodel From Start to Finish

The Bettendorf home we featured in last week’s blog tour also received a brand new Master Suite from Village Home Stores. The entire main level of this home and portions of the lower level were remodeled from start to finish by the expert team and Project Management process from Village Home Stores. Take a look at the Master Bathroom transformation:Remodeled Master Bath in Bettendorf from Village Home Stores. Includes Koch Cabinetry and Cambria Quartz counters. | VillageHomeStores.com

From a full-wall mirror and short vanity with molded top, to a bright painted cabinet with quartz counters. Just like the kitchen we toured in our previous post, this room has a wonderful skylight that pours in natural light during the daytime. Koch cabinetry in the Legacy door is painted White and an “Umber” Highlight has been applied. Replacing the old cultured marble vanity top is a new Cambria Quartz counter with two undermount bowls in Cambria’s “Helmsley” color.Remodeled Master Bath in Bettendorf Iowa with Cambria Quartz in Helmsley design. | VillageHomeStores.com

Helmsley is a stunning quartz design that gives the look of a natural stone with all of the benefits of quartz. Non-porous and extremely durable, quartz is a maintenance-free surface for your bathroom. A blend of dark browns and blacks mix with a neutral background. A sparkling silvery veining moves through the slabs to create a pattern normally found in a natural stone slab.  We added a lot of great storage to the new bathroom as well. Bathroom storage ideas in a Bettendorf Iowa home remodeled from start to finish by Village Home Stores. | VillageHomeStores.com

A tall and deep cabinet on the end of the vanity run provides linen storage. Between the two vanity sinks is a wall cabinet installed atop the Cambria countertop. This wall cabinet includes a shelf storage area behind the door and two drawers. This layout is perfect for double-bowl vanity bathrooms that need as much storage space as possible. In addition to the large mirror above the vanity, there was an entire alcove of mirrors surrounding a large tub accessed by a carpeted stair in the original space.

It is such a common request these days for us to remove a large Jacuzzi tub and install a large tiled shower in its place. In this bath design, we used the tub space for the shower and a walk in closet area in the new layout. In the image below you see the framing of the shower wall niche and beyond that, the closet space where the tub used to sit.

We created a walk-around entry to this tiled shower space.  The same 12″ x 24″ tiles on the main bathroom floors are used as the shower wall tiles. The series is named “Marazzi Silk” and the color is “Elegant”. This installation pattern is called a straight lay, as the tiles lay straight on top of each row. The main bathroom floor is a brick lay pattern that staggers the location of the tiles.

Custom showers can be a wonderful solution for bath remodels because we are able to create them using any odd or unique space you may have. Ask a designer at Village Home Stores if one could work in your own space. There is a custom tiled niche built into one of the walls. In the back of that niche is an accent tile from our Jeffrey Court line named “Crushed Mood Glass” the color is “Medley Karma”. This accent tile has been installed horizontally to compliment the direction of the main wall tiles.

The shower in this featured bathroom also includes a shallow bench area to be used a footrest or for added toiletries shelving. This area is sometimes referred to as a “toe shelf”. The same series and color of tile from the wall is used but in a smaller, 2″ x 2″ size. That same smaller tile is repeated as the shower floor.

We didn’t just remodel the kitchen and bathroom in this home, we did so much more. There was another bathroom in the lower level we remodeled, as well as all new flooring throughout the home. We even took this back door storage area of separate closets and transformed it into a new full width wall of storage.

Village Home Stores isn’t just beautiful kitchens and bathrooms, we want every space and surface in your home to look great. That includes every closet and stairwell. The main stairwell in the home was transformed from a dated tea rose patterned carpet to a neutral and transitional styled space.

This home has been totally transformed for the new owners! See the full album of photos from this project here on our award-winning Houzz page. Coal Valley, IL- A Master Bathroom Takes “Shape”

In our last feature post we shared a tour of a stylish and sophisticated kitchen remodel. That same home in Coal Valley, IL also includes a remodeled Master Suite area just as stunning! A sliding barn door in the Master Bath opens to reveal a walk-in closet, makeup vanity room, and a beautiful bathroom space.

Just like the kitchen, this bathroom began in a beige setting with a medium Oak vanity. A wall-to-wall installation of vanity and top included a cultured marble vanity top with two integrated bowls.

The new vanity area now includes an inset White painted vanity from our Dura Supreme line. The “Highland” doorstyle is inset into the vanity face frame for a classic and stylish look. White wall paneling has been installed throughout the new bathroom and is divided up to create shapely pattern.

From the inset door edges, to the unique wall sconces, everything makes a statement. We love that the accents of gold from the other areas of the home have made it into this Master Suite.

The wall sconces are mounted directly through the wall-to-wall mirror. This helps keep the bathroom space seem more open and airy by having the maximum amount of mirror available to bounce and reflect light around.

The Honey Gold finish and white fabric shade are right in place with the rest of the materials selected. The squared off corners of the gold frame reflect and create an almost greek key design.

Beneath the mirror and sconces sits a gorgeous new vanity top. Instead of a double bowl vanity, a single offset layout has been installed. This allows for more countertop space and allows the pattern of Cambria® Quartz “Brittanicca” to take center stage. A clean and stylish blend of whites and grays, this quartz has a natural marble look with the maintenance-free perks Cambria® offers. The vanity top has a “Large Ogee Edge” applied.

With a vanity area that stunning how could a shower still grab your attention? Well… we removed the shower curtain to take a few photos so you can get the full wow-factor!

We were correct about that wow-factor weren’t we? Using a dark gray grout here helps to enhance the geometric pattern of the tile installation. This tile by Florida Tile is appropriately named “Hex” is a glossy white hexagon pattern.

Proof that you do not  need a mosaic of colors to make a bold statement with tile, this shower is amazing! A mix of two shapes of the same colored tile installed in a modern look. We love the stacked install on these long, horizontal tiles.

One the wall opposite the shower head is a custom tiled niche area. Inside of that niche the same “Hex” tile has been used and glass shelves allow light to pass through. Including a custom shelf or niche is always helpful when planning a tiled shower.

Many times custom tiled showers include a tiled base for the floor. This customer wanted to avoid grout lines to be cleans on the floor and instead chose a stylish shower base custom made for her by the Onyx Collection. This base is poured in Kansas and available in many colors and can be customized to even the strangest of shapes. A textured pattern is included in the base for added traction. The color selected for this bathroom is named “Constellation” and it is a great compliment to the dark gray grout.

Aspen Homes- Baths, Laundry and Lighting Complete The Home

Village Home Stores isn’t just beautiful kitchen designs. We also have products and services for the rest of the rooms throughout your home. Today let’s take a tour of some of the other areas of this Apsen Homes LLC parade home beginning in the Master Bathroom.
Master Bathroom cabinetry in a Bettendorf, IA home. Design and materials by Village Home Stores for Aspen Homes LLC. | VillageHomeStores.com

Far atop the wishlists of most of our clients… storage! This is the case in a kitchen and especially in a bathroom. With medicine cabinets becoming a thing of the past, framed mirrors offer style but no storage. The vanity area in a bathroom is where a designer must get creative to add as much storage as possible without overcrowding the area.

Dividing the space between the two vanity sinks is a tall wall cabinet with a single drawer. These 12″ deep cabinets can accommodate a LOT of items within. Plenty of counter space is still surrounding the area and now storage is right within reach without even bending down to reach it!

The vanity includes two sink base cabinets and a large stack of drawers at the center. Cabinetry in the Master Bath is from our Koch Classic line in the “Legacy” door and Cherry wood stained the same “Stone” stain as the kitchen.  A Black accent glaze has been applied to highlight the details of the doors and drawerfronts.  The double-bowl vanity top is an Engineered Quartz.

Klondike’s “Calcutta Gold” quartz spreads the full width of the vanity with a backsplash and end splashes applied. Rectangle vanity sinks have been undermounted to the quartz and 8″ cc faucets in a bright polished chrome complete the look.  Two of the other bathrooms include a cultured marble vanity top. Cultured marble is a term for a molded top that includes an integrated vanity sink when it is made.

These tops are made in the U.S.A. from our Onyx Collection line. Standard sizes or custom, Onyx can make a top for your project. The look of cultured marble has changed dramatically over the years. What used to be a glossy, marbled look is now sleek and modern. Faux granites have replaced marbles and solid, matte finish tops like these are a classic choice.
