Village Home Stores Conference Room Update

One of our goals for the 2020 year is to improve the Village Home Stores showroom experience even more. We are located in downtown Geneseo, IL and we understand that isn’t right in the neighborhood for a large percentage of our customers. But those that choose to come and see us find that we are worth the short trip! When you choose to work with Village on a project in your new or existing home we want the entire process to be as enjoyable as possible. We offer many departments of products all in one convenient location to make the selecting, estimating, and buying process easy on you. It had been a long time since we updated our presentation and conference room in the showroom so it was atop our list for updates entering this new year. Check it out!

Our showroom includes more than a dozen installed kitchen displays that each help us showcase the many departments we have all under one roof. If you visit us, then you may find members of our team meeting with clients throughout the showroom in one of these spaces. During the design and selection appointments of our process, we find it is best to be out in the showroom near samples and examples so we can help guide our customers best. But for those meetings that involve personal and private information (like pricing), we have this presentation and conference room space available.

What do you think? We think it turned out so amazing! We want to thank all of our on staff carpenters and subcontractors who were able to fit this project in among our already busy schedules to get this project done during the Holiday season. This project is part of an overall effort to make it easier and more comfortable to shop with Village. Entering into 2020 we have made our website villagehomestores.com easier to shop and even added a feature that allows you to text with our team! Now our website, front entrance, and showroom all should give you the same impression (and we hope it’s a good one) of the quality products we offer and the quality of work we do.

Of course we always want to take any opportunity we can to remind you that overall we are a small business and we know our customers choose Village for our amazing staff and team. Please don’t think that this gorgeous award-winning showroom means that we are stuffy or expensive. We promise we are a very fun team to work with and remain laser-focused on getting you the competitive price you deserve with our wide variety of products. Speaking of products, this room features a new cabinetry line to Village Home Stores: Wynnbrooke Cabinetry!

This cabinet is the Frost White finish and the image above shows you that the Wynnbrooke cabinet line is a frameless or “full access” cabinet style. This cabinet style is clean and offers you maximum interior storage capacity for a cabinet. Learn more about Wynnebrooke cabinetry here on their website or stop in and see our samples today! Wynnbrooke Cabinets come already built with with many features that are considered upgrades from other lines. Full access construction, dovetail drawers and soft close door & drawer hardware to name a few. We chose to install more of our bestselling quartz surface line in this new space. Cambria Quartz is always first to launch dynamic and eye-catching new surface styles and colors.

The main cabinet wall of the presentation room has been fit with a Cambria Quartz top in the Skara Brae design (shown above). This natural marble veined style pattern with a blend of warm grays adds drama and style to any space. The large conference table in the room has been built with a tabletop of Golden Dragon Cambria Quartz (shown below). Black, whites, and a sparkling shimmering gold all blend to make a statement surface. You have to see this Cambria color in person to fully appreciate it.

This cabinet design is specific to our conference room needs. But it’s difficult not difficult to imagine a version of it in a home. In this showroom space we require storage and display areas. The main focus of this back wall is the TV where we mirror a customer presentation. We chose to include some glass door cabinets in a new updated “X” style mullion and surrounded the TV with floating shelves.

The back wall of the design has an extra element of texture with the applied wood flooring as the wall surface. We used a light oak finish on the shelves to contrast the Frost White cabinets. One of the most exciting details of our new conference room is another thing you must experience in person. We are installing our stylish Legrand Adorne series of switches and outlets along with a whole new lighting plan for the room. The exciting part is that the lighting will be voice controlled! Smart home and connected tech investments for your new or existing home continue to be a trending category of product and prove to be a wise investment to increase the value of your home.

Feature Kitchen: Weather or Not?

Prefer the smooth look of a painted kitchen cabinet? Or is a rustic weathered look more your taste? How about a perfect blend of each!? Our newest display kitchen in the Village Home Stores showroom is today’s featured kitchen! This kitchen was our booth display for this Winter’s Quad Cities Builders and Remodelers Association Home Show. It was a huge success making impressions at the show and has already become our new favorite now that it is at home here in Geneseo.

Village_Home_StoresAnytime a single kitchen display can showcase two styles and finishes of cabinetry it helps us and our customers out when shopping in the showroom. This combination of finishes looks so incredible as a big picture project we know we will be installing many similar to it all over the area. We posted last week how the trend of using gray finishes in the kitchen is showing that it has some real staying power. With many years ahead and more and more options launching very week, gray is the perfect choice for an island accent like this display features. We mixed both color and texture in this case:oysterwithsmoke

The island perimeter cabinetry for this kitchen is from our Koch Cabinetry line. The smooth painted “Oyster” finish has been accented with a “Smoke” glaze. This gray accent is perfect when paired with the backsplash, stainless appliances and the island from Dura Supreme. The island cabinetry is a rustic “Weathered E” Cherry finish. Dura Supreme has gone above and beyond to bring our customers amazing options with their Weathered Heirloom, and Heritage Painted series of cabinetry.

weathered_kitchen_islandIslands make the perfect place for a more textured look and finish, With many of our customers wanting a furniture-style design (like this display includes). An island is a perfect pop of color and while the idea may seem bold, the result seems right at home once the whole project is in place. We also selected two styles of hardware to compliment the cabinet choices for this display:

cabinet_hardware_quad_citiesThis weathered cherry island is something you truly need to see and feel in person. At the home show no invitation is needed to walk up and touch it. We watched people at the show walk from all the way down the aisle and right up to it to touch and see what the wood was.  The same thing kept happening with this display’s backsplash.Village_Geneseoflooring_on_wallIf it wasn’t the island cabinetry and top, the other most asked (and touched) part of this display was the wood “fake-out” tiles on the wall. These tiles give a look and texture that ties in perfectly as a compliment to the island finish. This material is actually a porcelain floor tile that has been installed as a backsplash. The tile is from our Paramount line in the Sandal Wood “Ocean Breeze” design. With the Diode undercabinet lighting system installed, the wood-look tile steals your attention right away! The KitchenAid® chimney-style hood becomes the focal point of the wall. Our most popular 30″ gas cooktop from KitchenAid® has a total of 5 burners below.

An apron-front farm sink doesn’t have to look “Traditional”. With the right setting it can have a more modern style. This Stainless Steel farm sink is a great example of just that. A white cast-iron sink would be to bold of a contrast in color and keep the island from having that solid, furniture look that we get with the look in our display.

stainless_farm_sinkNot only are the cabinets in this kitchen different but the countertops are as well. In this kitchen we paired Arabesque White with Natural Soapstone. We had so many questions about the soapstone top that we will be sharing a full product profile post on soapstone on the blog next week.arabesque white

island_lighting_quad_citiesWith an island this incredible and a focal wall like the one we have here, a subtle light fixture was the right choice for this kitchen. This kitchen design could warrant the use of so many types and styles of island lighting. Your possibilities are truly endless. This transitional style fixture from Kichler compliments the metal finishes from this kitchen as well as the length and shape of of the island. Two large pendants would also work well here and frame in the centered sink and hood on the wall behind the island.

While we love showing you our newest display kitchen in a tour here on the blog, you really need to stop by and see (and feel) it in person! The weathered cherry and soapstone in this island are stunning in person. Call or click today for an appointment to get started on your project!cabinets_Geneseo (1)
