Take a look at this Coal Valley, Illinois bathroom design including blue cabinets, gold accents, and painted farmhouse tiles. A vanity setup with two sinks, each with a mirror and light above. At the center, two stacks of drawers to stay organized and keep the counters clutter-free. This beautiful bath could easily pass as a primary bathroom, but it is the shared hall bath in this new home from Hazelwood Homes (don’t worry, we will share the primary bath soon). Let us take a look around!
The vanities and a tall linen cabinet area are installed with Koch Cabinetry in the “Prairie” door style painted in a “Charcoal Blue” finish. The inside edge profile of the cabinet door rails and stiles adds a beaded detail. A brushed gold finish on the handle hardware looks great and the blue finish from the cabinetry is the perfect match to the painted tiles used.
The shared hall bathroom in the new home has enough space for a laundry niche built-in, a long wall of vanity cabinetry, and tiled shower. The same tile used for the floor has been used to accent the shower walls. We originally had planned on installing a horizontal band of the painted tiles for an accent. The homeowner happened to be at the jobsite when the tile was getting installed. The tile installer suggested to instead make a vertical accent with the tiles behind the shower controls. What an inspired idea!
Painted tiles come in a wide variety of colors and patterns. This category of surfaces continues to grow. While many times these are called “farmhouse” tiles, not all of them showcase rounded or floral patterns. Ask a tile expert at Village Home Stores to see some of our geometric options. The star of this show in Coal Valley is Glazzio’s Retro Neuve series tiles in the “Paris Spring” pattern and color.
This tile will NOT be ignored! It truly is the main character of this bathroom space. This would be the case even if it were only installed as the bathroom flooring. Using it as a vertical accent in the tiled shower just adds punctuation to its already great statement. Press play below to see what we mean:
