The lower level of this Bettendorf, Iowa home has been finished with a home bar space (more on that soon), a game room, tv room, and a guest suite. The guest bathroom is incredible and the shower is truly a sight to be seen. We were so glad to hear from these clients for their lower level project after working with them and Kerkhoff Homes on the main levels of the new home. Press play below to take a quick look around the bathroom and this amazing tiled shower design.
Isn’t that shower amazing? The colors and textures in such a dark tile give a rich look and that LED shelf across the back looks like something you would see in a high-end hotel or resort. This is a tile series named “Molten” and it is comes in a variety of tile shapes, sizes, and other colorways. This series even comes in a popular hex shape. The texture and tones of the tiles have a weathered pottery look, so it only makes sense this color is named “Nero Raku”.
Custom Tiled Shower With LED Shelf
We photographed the shower without the overhead light on because this LED shelf is so dramatic and cool. There is a narrow channel strip under the “top” to this niche and a wet-rated LED strip has been installed inside of it. We have the lighting and hardware needed to recreate this look in your home so be sure to reach out with any questions you may have. To help highlight the lighting on this back wall, a ribbed texture tile in the same color was installed floor to ceiling and inside of the niche. The base of the ledge/shelf itself is a smooth tile to keep from water collecting there. We love how the light creates shadows and adds texture that draws your attention.
Large Format Tiles
Large-format tiles have always been a popular choice in commercial design. A lot of the same reasons large tiles are used often in public spaces are the same reasons you may want to consider them for your home. Larger tiles can take on dramatic patterns and details without interruptions in a size like this. You can also pay with texture or pattern for accented areas and fewer tiles are needed to do so. Plus you end up with fewer grout lines to clean.
Furniture Style Vanity
The floor of the tiled shower is by Glazzio Tile in the Urban Jungle series and “Grey Chameleon” color. The vanity in this guest bathroom is from our Koch Classic line. This is a furniture vanity ordered with the flat-panel Savannah door and painted “Black” finish. The lower shelf of the vanity is perfect to lay out towels for guests having them in sight but out of the way and off the counter.
Cambria Quartz Counter
The vanity top is from Cambria Quartz in the “Seagrove” design. Love this look? You should see the rest of the house! Check out the other spaces from the main level of this home here on our Houzz page. Save to your own ideabooks images from this project here on our Houzz page.
